My brother and I kinda have this thing going on where we are trying to convence the other to give up their MMO and jump ship to our MMO. To this end my brother posted this on his Facebook for me to see.

MOVIES 2014

I don’t know about you but i am getting excited for new movies. This month has a few that are at the top of my personal list.

LEGO movie – Starting to look i am going to this one alone as the wife and boy have zero interest. It might just become a wait for dvd movie also. 😦

ROBOCOP! I love the OG Robocop movies yes even 3. Okay well maybe 3 is more for the cheesy factor then the griping badassness that was the first two films. So yes i am excited to see this new future for Robo and maybe if we are lucky this film will reboot the films and we can see a good version of Robocop 3.

There are also a few dvds out this month like the new Thor film and Ender’s Game which i haven’t seen yet as again no one wanted to go with me. 😥

But this year is just another year of (potentially) amazing movies all year long. And just to wet your whistle a little.

Yes, I TRed Samius a few days ago and I am racing him back to 20 just to TR him again. But this life i wanted to spice things up a little.

Yep, fairly pleased in general and rocking the low-mid levels think i could be 20 again by the weekend. But i am having fun so lets not rush things too much.

Lets all go on an Adventure

So if you all remember one of my goals for the year is to write and if necessary e-publish my own pnp adventure. And i have been working on it on and off in the back of my head for a while now. I have a start (the hook/how to set it) and the overall scope but i am getting fuzzy on the details. So my brain has been tooling a round a few ideas and i want to run them by you.

I think i want to tie in to the DDo setting for this module, ie i want to set things in Stormreach and use some of the npcs and some of the locations. Ideally i wouldn’t use more back story then necessary so non-ddo people could pick up the module and with a few tweaks plop it into their campaign. But i really like the idea of using a back drop that anyone can see for the cost of downloading the game and playing for free for 5 mins.

The other there is always like a mouth watering description that gets the ball rolling on opening your wallet. Like this one from on of my personal favorite quests ever.

Things and Playsel and Streams

Last night and this morning as i was falling to sleep and waking up i had a lot of versions of this post rocking around in my head. Things i want to cover and things i want to talk about. But i don’t have the clearest idea of how i want this ideas to flow into one and other. So if things are a little muddled in the transitions bear (or bare you you also dislike pants) with me.

Right this moment i want to defend Turbine and its Player Counsel. People it is something NEW and SCARY and NEW. Did i say NEW? Ie, change. I thought we all wanted change?

I think most of us can agree that the Mornlands system was less then ideal. Closed/Hidden/Secret we had no idea what was coming until it was mostly too late to get our two cents in on. I remember  the first time i saw the new AC changes. I don’t even remember how many blog posts i did on AC and getting one that mattered and how many i wrote on how the current system is a removing the incentive to work at an worth wild AC. And i was fairly active working with the tools i had at my disposal. But we got the system anyway, and with it we got a promise to do a revision pass soon. To my knowledge there has been no talk of a follow up AC pass.

Maybe this PC, that is a dumb name by the way…. Maybe this Player Counsel can get in while it is still possible to herd the cats around to a plausible idea.  Maybe not. But it is new people, Lets get off everyone nuts for a minute and see how things shake out.

Okay that said 3 more things on the Player Counsel.

  1. Anytime i am reading the forums and i see “Read by a member of the Player Counsel” i am likely to shoot my drink out of my nose. If you are a member of the Counsel, unless you and i have spoken and you have an opinion that i respect (not necessarily agree with but respect) then tagging a post with i read this and i am important might as well be pissing in the wind in my eyes. That said anyone can earn my respect with well thought out responses and replies on things that the Player Counsel will be working. Still however “Read by a member of the Player Counsel” is likely not to garner any good will on my part.
  2. I have been asked if i am going to be on the Player Counsel or not. Short answer is No, i will not be. But as i understand it, the reason is due to one i am not willing to change, my friendships with those that work at Turbine. I could have or it could be perceived that i might have a stronger voice in the Player Counsel due to my friends at Turbine and to a lesser degree this blog and the different podcasts as the podcasts are how i got to meet and become friends with these people. And if i have to give up being on the Player Counsel to still be able to talk and hang out freely with these people well then i guess it is not for me. No matter how much my wife thinks i need to be part of the decision making process when it comes to DDo. Guess I will just have to get hired.
  3. I am getting really tired of typing Player Counsel. And we know that PC is a dumb-ass name. Can we please find something else? Playsel? Or Pounsel? Or maybe we can just nickname members all Bob and call it the meeting of the bobs, Motbs for short?

The other thing i want to talk about is streaming. I think Turbine needs an official stream(s)/schedule/team. It doesn’t need to be running 24/7 but i bet we could fill 80 hours fairly easily among there different games. Start with one stream and rotate things on a schedule, Asheron’s Call Mondays, LoTRs Tuesdays, DDo Wednesdays, Dev Friday Public Play,  etc…. Then as things pick up we can expand the coverage to include other members in the party. I really feel that using these streaming services can provide a real advantage to the companies that take the time to do so. I spent some time last week ice jumping on stream. I ended up doing a Q and A with people that just wondered into the channel looking for something else to play. WHILE ICE JUMPING PEOPLE!

I have watching the MtG online coverage of events for a long time now. But you know what i really love? Just watching some of the pros that i really love and respect just playing MtG live on stream with their thoughts on things as the play.

Mind blowing right?

When i am King

5 things i would do if i was the undisputed king of the US (maybe world not that up to date on the whole worlds issues) for a day.

1, Surround my house with a moat and line it with heads of my enemies. You know who you are. Yes, Bobby Flay you would be a real jewel in my collection.

2, Stream line the immigration process. Make thing much simpler for new immigrates to declare themselves and get started in the process.

This is where i get a little silly…

3, Order a trilogy of live action films by Shane Black/Jon Favreau team up based on the Guyver manga with instructions to stay as close to the source as possible.

4, The 3rd of July is now, Blow Job Day. Give a little get a little. Smiles all around.

5, Reorder the bug list in DDo. I don’t know where things are going but I could just about scream the other day when i hit a slew of Druid and Bard bugs all in a row. Grumble.

 

So what am i missing? If i expanded this list to 10 what would i add. Shit 10 things in a day? Who am i Superman?

Javabot: 17/2/1 Report

Thought i would focus down and get some writing done today as apposed to hammering out a Commander MtG deck to learn that my General may or may not be banned just as i finish pass one of the deck. Not that this very thing happened yesterday….  grumble grumble

Anyway, thought i would do a little evaluation of things and see if i like them or not. 

First off Java is level 24 now, at the last moment i decided to go 17/2/1 druid/fighter/wiz. The way i have things setup right now is about how i thought they might. Just to make life a little easier i will just show you a pic of my enchantment setup and spell layout. I could show you my destiny bs, but as i am leveling off destinies i am using whatever happens to be worth a turdnugget and Engery Burst/Imp Power Attack and Endless Faith.

Okay back to details, as best as i can figure my damage per hit is not where i want it to be in Exalted Angel i am hitting the training dummy for all of 50ish points, which is just sad.  But i have a native 33% double strike so that is more like what 66 per hit? Still poopy. But my attack speed is fair and i am still just using an epic Kron’zek’s Cruelty. Which is not a bad weapon but it is not great right at the moment. But i press on. 

Having a worth wild dodge score is weird. But might be worth some of the changes. That was why i took the last fighter level btw i could take mobility with that last feat. Distributed a well known player on Sarlona and a fairly new DG member made a compelling argument about erring on the side of not getting hit vs taking less damage. Not something i am used to doing with the AC system in this game, such as it is. 

My PRR is just gone. Like i never had any. With the exception of a belt with 14 PRR slotted in a green slot every thing is more or less the same and what was 79 PRR is now 5. I think i am just missing something, but i am not sure what and i don’t like it. Okay i found a little bit of the missing PRR. I normally twist in the Legendary Shield Mastery, but i was leveling that destiny so i didn’t need to twist it in. Guess i need to twist it back in… On the plus side my double strike will hit 40% with out boosts. 

Something i just noticed is the fact that i am missing 3 uses of Wild Empathy, not a huge deal on its own but i use those uses to power Flight and that is a big deal. 😦 

Over all it is still hard to say what is better. I am still a few levels away from my best weapons. But i think the Skullcrusher next level will be a beast again now that i am proficient. I might have to let Tobril talk me into more Lobs again to make a not small version of my shield that was an error on my part. 

Oh spells real fast. Even though i don’t have the spell slots to ready another form like i could before most of my core desires are covered as long as i prep the form i want to use before hand. But i am not impressed with some of my DCs even though i have my wisdom as high as i can make it can go at the moment. But most things trip or get shaken up but when things evade my Icy Burst i get a little pissed. 

Still leveling at the moment and if i cap out and i don’t like it i guess i will just use that +20 to pick up another life and rock a little closer to completionest.

Vajazzle?

Yesterday, I was catching up with Rach over on her blog everydaytangents when one of her posts spawned an idea. She was writing about her limited experience with vajazzling, something i had to Google a bit to get and idea of what the hell she was talking about and when i got it i was not surprised be say… Okay surprised will work… I was surprised that this was a thing. Guess it even has a fairly sweet spoke person, in Jennifer Love Hewitt. I mean if anyone’s vagina should sparkle, it has to be her’s right?

Anyway, Rach was going on about being ready to go for it and add a little shine to her treasure chest when she realized that a skin test might be in order and aborted. But what stuck me was the options she had in the kit her friend “gifted” to her. Hearts, Stars, Diamonds, Clovers and Balloons! Wait no that is Lucky Charms… Well I guess that is right.

But what is there for us nerdy people?

I mean maybe we need a Dragon or a Sword. Maybe a D20 or a mix of dice. Maybe the greatest wizards of all time. 10 different poses of

Dungeon Master!

Just saying if you want to go the extra mile to make your golden mound even more special what would be better then a natural 20?
